U7 Interpretation

Page history last edited by andrew 2 yrs ago

concept of reproducing notes is crucial to studying

-U6 highlights in book, then reproduces notes into MSWord, then prints out and reads again

-makes flashcards with formulas to rewrite the concept

-copies concepts contained within powerpoints "verbatim' into notebook, doesnt reference, just the act helps

writing out allows her to think about concepts more and comprehend before

 -"writing prevents speed reading"

-If students find the textbook unhelpful then they wont use it

-only uses textbook when she absolutely has to

-Diagrams and boxes that explain how work problems are done are extremely helpful

-practicing problems that could be on test is an effective way to study

-If you are getting a good grade in a class you are more likely to repeat your study technique

-If you arent getting a good grade in a class you will change the way you are studying

-If the material is boring you are much less likely to discuss it with fellow students

-Studying with classmates is a waste of time if you already understand the material

-discussing concepts with classmates and explaining things to each other is an extremely helpful technique if you need to study

-it is hard to learn math problems via a web based application

-chat functions will not work for all types of curriculum

-Students study a lot for tests the day before the exam

-Outlines given by the teacher or TA are extremely significant in shaping studying practices

-Step-by-step instructions are helpful

-if you are getting good grades you are more likely to study alone

-Sometimes not taking notes in class is more helpful than taking notes in class

-Comprehension is facilitated by homework
