Interview Notes:
-Pulled out book, notes, calculator, cell phone and midterm with sheet from
her TA stapled to it.
-Has a solutions manual but its too heavy to carry around all the time so she forgot it.
-Studied in basement of library becuase its quiet.
- Skimmed through each section she had toi do HW for before attempting problems.
-Had old midterm out but really doesn't help for HW in any way.
-Runs penical under words to help reading.
-Has sections has has to do HW for written at the top of her paper along with the problems
for each section.
- There are problems that are not mandatory but will be quized on, and then there are problems
that are turned in to be graded.
-She does odd (non graded) problems first for comprehension before attempting graded problems.
-Looks for information in grey boxes. This boxed info is the important concept(s) for the chapter.
-Goes from box to examples to understand concept.
-Once finished reading the chapter, she attempts problems.
-If she can't do the problem she goes back and looks for an example problem that is similar
that is worked out in the book.
-If she still doesn't understand (or there is no similar example), she looks at the answer
and tries to figure it out that way.
If neither of those two things help, then she tries to find a similar example problem
from the notes she took from lecture. This is her last resort b/c she thinks the book should be able to
answer her question since the book posed it.
Interpretation Notes:
-The book highlights the important information with grey boxes to make it easier to find.
leads to more skimming and less comprehensive reading.
-Class notes are last resort becuase they are less complete compared to the book.
-Does the problems that arn't graded first to grasp concept.
-Solutions amnual is too big so is not commonly brought. Leads to forgetting it when it would be helpful.
